Welcome to Forest Montessori! My name is Jaya. Originally from Mumbai, I have called Auckland home since 2009. I am a wife to a loving husband, yoga enthusiast, mountain climber, waterfall swimmer, food lover and most of all a mama to a beautiful wee girl. I found Montessori accidentally while working at a school as a reliever in 2009 and knew that I had found my calling! Since then, I have mainly worked in Montessori 3-6 year settings in Auckland. I have my NZ teaching qualifications/full-registration, MCI certification and AMI 0-3 years certification. As an outdoor enthusiast, I am also inspired by the Forest school philosophy and perceive it to be an enriching outdoor extension to the Montessori principles. In 2018, I had the opportunity to do practical training workshops and spend some time working at the Forest school in Auckland.
